Show-case 8: Kitchen

- Fragments of rims of different vessels

The example exhibited here show that pots, bowls, and jugs have manifold forms of rims. A vessel with a thick coating of soot shows the mark of its manufacturer.

- Sieve

A vessel glazed green with two handles and six spouts. The holes in the bottom show that probably this vessel was used as a sieve.

- Pot cover

All the lids found during excavating the premises are bell-shaped and have a knop in form of a disk.

- Decoration

Even simpler vessels show rich ornamental strap work. Waves were a favourite ornament.

- Mending vessels

If an earthen vessel had a crack, the fissure could be mended by a piece of wire.
